Despite its innovative potential, adoption remains uncertain due to concerns regarding fraud, security, and trust. Drawing on perceived risk theory and trust-based technology adoption frameworks, this study develops and empirically tests an integrative model examining the effects of perceived fraud risk, perceived security, and perceived sustainability orientation on trust and intention to adopt metaverse banking services, while investigating the moderating role of digital literacy. Using survey data from 250 respondents in Saudi Arabia, analyzed via PLS-SEM, findings indicate that fraud risk negatively affects perceived security and trust, while perceived security and sustainability orientation enhance trust. Trust emerges as the strongest predictor of adoption intention. Digital literacy attenuates the negative impact of fraud risk on perceived security.
